I took @maxicook along to #amp09 to have a look at how Twitter was changing the face of online events and to have a look at how social media allows us to create great conferences out of the ether so to speak.
Toby managed to corral over 300 people together to talk about social media topics to inspire and create the buzz at the event . Bringing homogeneity out of heterogeneity as he said. Table topics ranged from “wine bubbles” to “The end of the book?” full list of topics from my blog post yesterday.
I totally loved the one Tweet initiative, so at the end of each session everyone tweeted their key learning from the session. Things that could be captured for future events and shared amongst the rest of the attendees. So searching on session 07, The future of the book gives you this. A brilliant idea…
So we came away buzzing with ideas on how to create our own techy conferences using this mechanism, getting IT Pro’s together to discuss their virtualisation or clustering challenges should be fun. And all organised on Twitter.
What do you think??…
