October 2013 at Microsoft. Event 11

Once again it was Microsoft’s turn to host the 11th event in the Connecting Women in Technology initiative at its offices in London.

We had a great agenda and some really inspiring speakers. The theme for this event was managing, leading and excelling in a diverse business.

We had some amazing speakers too.  A keynote focused on leading diverse teams and three separate topics across two  sessions. Our agenda followed a tried and trusted formula:

  • 13:15 Welcome & Intro
  • 13:30 Keynote
  • 13.50 Networking break
  • 14:05 Breakout Session 1
  • 15:05 Coffee Break
  • 15:25 Breakout Session 2
  • 16:25 Coffee Break
  • 16.35 Debate with panel
  • 17:00 Drinks, Canapes and Networking

The keynote was delivered by Microsoft’s head of the Developer Platform and Evangelism team, Anand Krishnan who charted his career journey and the importance of having a gender balanced diverse workforce in organisations.

Our breakout sessions were: Managing a diverse workforce led by Linda Peters & Gary Gamp, The power of the right words led by Sophie Sabbage and Caroline Holt and Intrapreneurialism and diversity led by James Scroggs.

Microsoft had three breakout rooms available so that attendees could attend two from the three sessions to maximise their experience.

Once again, the project team at CWT received some great feedback about the structure and format of the event – and some suggestions for us to think about at the next event at Dell.

Another great success for the CWT project team – one we all should be proud of
