As James and Arthur have noticed, last week, we’ve released Office Communications Server to manufacturing now (RTM) so it’ll soon be generally available. Check out the new Office Communicator blog site for updated info (and Johann’s blog for all the pictures!). Mary Jo is correct in her guess that it’s on it’s way in the fall. I’m going on tour around the UK with “Unified Communications Unplugged” at the end of October. We’ll have had the OCS launch before we go on tour too, but the product will be available before then. As a rule of thumb we used to use at a rough date that general availability would be about 6 weeks after launch which would make GA day around 6th September. Hmmm. My money is on the week after that…at a guess 🙂
We’re planning our launch activities in October. Perhaps it takes us longer than 6 weeks from RTM to get to GA now? I’ve been searching around and the dates seem to vary. Anyone have a definitive answer?
PS – I noticed that Johann doesn’t put his complete phone number on his blog pics. He’s obviously worried about the hundreds of calls he may get…
