Interesting infographic from MDG Advertising showing how social media can affect our travel choices. We get our inspiration from Facebook, looking at pictures of places our friends have visited. We check out travel itineraries online, compare prices and check out hotel addresses and directions.
We post reviews of cafes and restaurants that we’ve visited, share horror stories of poor hotel experience and gain traveller badges for posting reviews on Trip Advisor. We share pictures on Facebook and check in to unusual and exotic places. I’m currently the mayor of a cafe I visited when skiing in Canada
Apart from the horrendous mobile roaming charges, we use Wi-Fi access wherever possible on our stay, reporting where we are, who we are with and post pictures of what we are eating.
Which raises the question – how on earth did we manage before all this connectivity came along?
